Non-Caring mods, Importing Items, & Hypocrites

Going over the last few days of stupid stuff, here's some interesting stuff sent in:

So, you think that importing items are against the rules? Well, it is. Doesn't prevent home users from abusing rerouting techniques to get things from Japan. But is that limited to hackers and exploiters?

What you see above is CydoniaX, HCM staff. Who is that she's dancing with? A person with a suit that isn't available to North American users. So, while they are banning folks who abuse exploits and hack in items, they're still taking breaks to have fun with users who do the same thing. The difference? Personal relationships with users.

Here is CydoniaX once again, this time importing items herself. Wearing items not available in North America.

ChronosViper, a HCV, speaks of importing items. But importing them to not wear them of course.

GlassWalls saying that someone being harassed isn't his responsibility because he is no longer a moderator

  1. I've seen a lot of evidence that would suggest otherwise. I've seen people standing in front of GlassWalls with items from JP, and he was perfectly okay with it.

He said he didn't condone it, but if he doesn't condone it, why won't he do anything about it?

  2. this is why Home-Watch has my continued support.

  3. because they continue to expose Home staff for blatant lazyness and non-caring.

  4. This unprofessional behavior should not surprise anyone. Sony didn't hire experienced people to manage or grow a thriving virtual community. Our HCMs are not really community managers. They don't care about growing/maintaining a community and they have virtually no experience at it. They just want to squeeze you for sales virtual shit and let you believe you are subsidizing the birth of something wonderful. Guess again, you are not. Their form of "community management" is selling firemen suits for 9/11, or crap for other holidays/events, and building interest in other items you'll want to buy.

Real community management would interact with the users at Home's official forum; ours do not. Real community managers would manage contests with fairness, our do not. Real community managers would visit the larger clubs and seek input, ours refuses. Real community managers would enforce the rules and protect the community... our definitely does none of this.

Remember Phil Harrison's gripe that Sony Japan didn't understand the promise of a virtual online world. They still don't. All they see is a platform to market new games/movies and sell virtual shit.

Sorry everyone but our efforts to actually improve Home are a lost cause. The best we can do is prepare Home users for the poor customer service they will receive and the limited value Home offers. We can let people know they are not alone and share with them PR and legal processes for engaging Sony Corp. I encourage everyone with legitimate gripes to take their complains to the BBB, local media outlets, Blogs like this and finally the court system.

To end this on a positive note... there is a chance that Sony hires a visionary to take Home to the next level. Maybe this blog and input from Home users will help Sony realize that Home could be much more profitable for them if they would just give Home the proper resources and vision.

  5. man, if sexual harassment in Home can make it in the papers, i think stuff like this could easily make it in to. i just might contact my local paper, inform them of what's been happening in Home, and inform them of this site.

  6. See, I'm torn on all this.

On one hand, I want as much freedom in Home as can be. But then you'll have those who abuse that freedom and make thing absolutely miserable.

With this case with the HCMs and how they respond to the issues, I think it's just a matter of not wanting to look like a bad guy to the ones who do it. The HCMs are allowed to do it. I think they personally aren't that much against users who do it. It's against the rules and all, and I think that's the only thing they have against it: the fact that it's against the rules. So when they see it, they probably make the choice to ignore it unless it absolutely needs their attention.

It's like how GW mentioned once about glitching when he was the head of the mods. He said he didn't mind it one bit unless it caused game disruption. Then when a mod would mess with users by putting them in the saucer pop pond. He said that he's not against mods doing that to certain people who actually want to, if everything is all in good fun. But if it was abuse, then he didn't like it.

So it's almost like they have a "chill dude" hippy-type of mindset when it comes to things like that. They only react, when it becomes "not cool, man."

  7. basically they're allowed to break the rules because they're MODs and HCMs and they don't give a fuck. that's the vibe i'm getting.

  8. WTF @ my username, LOL! I had to look twice to make sure I was seeing this shit right. Yeah, there was a bunch of hacked stuff there that day.

  9. @kapow

Yeah man, where have you been the last year?

  10. But arent the items that CydoniaX are wearing are availabe in irem now.

    ReplyDelete
  11. That was taken back when the Godfather II space just opened. The items weren't available then, unless you did questionable things.

Best part is that she had the nerve to say, "Oh well it's just part of the perks for being staff."

Not really they were that ignorant about how fervently people tried to get those items, and yet she still just waved it in our faces like a snobby bitch.

  12. @alice:
it was more of a semi-sarcastic reply to michael then a revelation.

  13. Well they are hcm. You think that kind of job doesnt come with perks? I'm fine with thier loose morals on this. Alot of ppl would disappear if they strt bans for it. I like the fact if you do get caught, you only lose thm and get a slap on the wrist LOL

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well it does involve perks the HCM my have to go to the Japan servers to discuss something or what not. So yes they will have these Items.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So what if they have to another region? It's a terrible PR move for them to even think about showing off other region stuff that we (thought) we weren't ever going to get.

    ReplyDelete
  16. well I would be considered Elite to Home Watch but I do not agree with what Cyd is doing here and if she said being an HCM you get perks thats horrible to lol sorry about the bad grammer im kinda tired lol im typeing with one finger lol i do not agree with this at all if cyd does have these perks no need for her to show her domance over other users bad cyd.

  17. What Adam says in the first comment is pertinent. There is an inconsistency in the application in the rules, and their enforcement too often seems like a last minute reaction. The region hopping controversy last spring began when Cyd shows up at the Godfather II space wearing the kimono. This act gave consent to those who hacked it to wear it (which they did).

I tried to raise this issue on the forums, but the pope derailed and betlittled my post calling it "sad." I think it's sad that nobody is addressing these issues.

And regarding the Chronosviper pics, why is an HCV talking about hacking the program? Is that appropriate behavior for a leader in Home?

  18. i guess the managers see this all the time and just think its yet another drop in the bucket of all the users who are always trying to find a way to promote themselves above others and to stand out and make themselves the center of attention on Home. In fact, at the Hope for Haiti event, a user who posts here alot came wearing alot of the items posted above. It was insain. and then we had a discussion about them, lol, in which he talked about how much he liked the items! LOL

Everytime i see these orange Tornado heads or Loco roco heads, I just think about how their avatar head size is now more realistic to the user's BIg head :D
Its a perfect way to tell who is insecure enuf that they must make themselves an issue in home and reach beyond what the rest of the cummunity is allocated. But it seems to some what the community gets isnt enuf for them. They deserve "better"! Well we will see.

Maybe the managers just see this too much and think its too petty to go on a crusade for. i guess you could say it would be better to not make a scene in home and just deal wit in private later. IDK, Jesus ate wit sinners, and people thought he was a sinner by association. People who wear hacked items, or whatever means they use, like invites and such, idk, those people are a moth to a flame when they see ways to get attention and help fill the void in their soul wit hard to get items and being seen wit big shots. If these people will do anythin for attention, you better believe they stock the manager too. so people like this being seen arround managers is by no means their fault. They cant help the crazies. I know we would like for them to go guns a blazing on everyone who brakes the rules, but can u imagine what it would be like if the managers did? But i definetly think moderation needs a new aproach to how to punish it.

Im not gonna talk about what Chrono said, cause im trying not to talk bout users (my girlfriend will hurt me if i do) but i think we should adress that at the closed debate we r having this friday. I believe he will be there, and we can talk to him personaly bought how STUPID, and WRONG, and insulting, and insensitive, it is. and to be honest, its a patern.

And i think we should definetly spend a whole debate on the region hopping controversy JTW.

But my suggestion would be to focus on getting the users to stop it. can we show these people they dnt need these items to have fun on Home? can we make wearing them undesireable in home, so the users get ignored on home for having the items instead of them gettig the attenion they do now. that way we could make it tabboo and maybe it would loose its apeal. although its not a perma-soultion, only the devs can do that

  19. Chronos seems to be on a roll here on Home Watch, and this most recent post about him is no different. Things like that make me wonder why he's still even a HCV when there's people out there who are much better suited for the job as they actually show respect to Home and its users. I've seen him totally blow off noobies asking questions when he's hanging out with his entourage.

  22. Hmm, i dont think it is a good idea to be using peoples ID's in this website without their permission, and i really dont like how you secretly take pictures of my friends ( jaela_menoa & ChronosViper ) Not Smart.

  23. Wow I never mentioned hacking the Home program. see there you guys go making wild accusations without knowing the full story, or seeing the full conversation. By the way we have the IREM space and Japan items in NA Home now, so I'm happy.

  26. *Sigh* well this is the part were Home Watch kinda wins, Well you can expect CydoniaX will have these items as Anonymus said they have to go to other regions for maintenece and such. So there is were Home Watch doesnt really have a point. Now they have a point were Cyd is wearing these items in NA around users is just plain wrong and I find it very rude to show off these items. Now the part that is just pain Dumb is ChronosViper. He will say somethings like this well because he has his oppinion as well. And there is no reason to attack him over it as he stated he will proably not wear them at all. So lets leave that there. And the GlassWalls comment "Face palm" that comment he made sounded like it was from sarcasm. So no need to jump on him.

  27. Maybe these people getting exploited JP stuff have actually helped bring things like Irem to American Home - maybe Irem says if we can't beat them we can at least make some yankie dolla - yes I tend to look at the silver lining in things,,,

  28. @LBE
i'm willing to bet the bikinis show up in NA next, since everyone and their grandma is already wearing them.
