Plagiarism - Only From the Elite

A few days ago I mentioned a member's thread getting shut down for a BS reason: Sorry, you're just not good enough. They attempted to play it off saying it was a "game." Only Forumtroll kissasses can have that privilege. Then Reverend_Maggot posted the exact same thread, with the exact same content, without any credit to the person he stole it from. He even has the churchbells to make the next comment:

Yeah, this one is kinda like an Official Game Thread. Game Threads in the PS forums are allowed only by MVPs and mods and such, so nearly all the other times, the other threads will be lock/deleted as a game thread or being off-topic or something like that.

I'm hoping to create other game threads later on down the road depending on how well this one goes. Something to bring some fun and sense of community here in the Home Forum!

The f'ing gall of that guy. You ever needed any other evidence of how some users are favored, here it is. Hey Reverend, you remember that one commandment? Number 8? Thou shall not steal? Stop being a hypocrite and give credit where credit is due.

And god forbid someone attempt to take credit. The author/creator of the concept said the following: (And nothing more)

This thead looks familiar...

Which Jim77, with his lips puckered like his browneye, came directly to it's defense:

But is set up by an MVP so is allowed.

Dont flame / bait please

Then it vanished. The whole thing was deleted. Outstanding, just when I think my point hasn't been driven home enough, the ammo truck pulls up and literally hands me more.

  1. Do not steal is commandment 6, not 8. Eight is to not bear false witness.

I corresponded with the good Reverend in private. I could send them along later on, but he assures me he came up with this idea on his own, and that he's not "elite" (depite the MVP) by his name).

Thanks for publishing this. This truly does hurt me.

  3. Reverend is a friend of mine. I've never seen him as an elite, although we dnt agree on alot, he encourages debate. He is just a sticker on being happy bought stuff. He feels the same way we do about alot of stuff but he just prefers to keep the peace. Thats the role he sees best for himself and i dnt short change him for that. Im not sure steeling is his mo either.

  4. He could have at least given me some credit. The whole thread is hyped by his authority to do it, and quite frankly the whole thing just sucks.

  5. true. the thread does only bring attention to the MVP tag he holds. Although, many of us asked for the Home forums to have an MVP for a long time and if he is the only way for the forums to have games, i would not want for him to not exercise that "power". If we want games in the forums, He is the way to do it, thanx to the mods being freedom of fun nazis. So him making games is a good thing, otherwise you'll have none. You could say he is just doing his job, however much it sucks.

Maybe he will remove the parts about his MVP tag and maybe add some credit to others if we ask.

  6. To Rev_M's credit he did mention me in the OP. And I pointed out to him that my hurt and anger is natural given the circumstances and he'd react the same way.

I did tell him that my anger is really at Lithium, hired by Sony, for creating such a nasty enviroment on the forums. And I blame the HCM for encouraging us to be creative, yet doing nothing when our creativity is thwarted.

And of course seeing Jim777's reaction in the thread speaks volumes. My response to his comment to Jim in the above exchange, and which was removed by the mod (as I knew it would), was "And you wonder why people call you elite."

  7. It is retarded that only MVPs are allowed to start "games" in the forum. Sounds like a mod had an ax to grind initially and the good rev did steal the idea without giving credit. For that, the rev is a douchebag, period.

  8. Again Rev M did credit me somewhat. But still makes me wonder why Sony has entrusted the forums to Lithium. They're doing them no favors.

  9. JTW ur wrong, #8 is stealing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Commandments

  10. wow. a bunch of fuckin douche bags these forum nazis are.

  11. The article states there are several numberings. I'm Lutheran, meaning I'm in the last column. Stealing is number seven, false witness is number eight. And my typing six above is a typo. I was angry while typing. Still am acutally...

Wouldn't it make sense for the stupid forum mods to come to me and help me develop it, if indeed it was a contest to begin with? The whole thing just sucks and looking at the thread, it's all our favorite elite dorks playing along: Jim777, CamronGirl, etc etc etc...

  13. No, on the mod part, i completly agree. I have no idea why it has to be this way, but He is the only way ur gonna get a game in the forums thanx to their stubborness.

And yes, it does suck. The mods have ruined games on the forums for everyone. And *sigh* at these elite dorks, i bet they would tell people in Haiti to stop complaining if they went over there, granted they wouldnt actualy be staying in Haiti, but the Dominican Republican and maybe just visiting to tell them to stop complaining, it will get them no where.

  14. Yep, I'm convinced the good reverend is evil.

I called him out on it and here was his response: "I posted the thread, and then it was brought to my attention by someone (first poster, and then JTWNY through PM) that she posted a similar thread a while back. I didn't take the idea from her thread, but rather someone gave me the idea via twitter. It happened by coincidence that her thread and mine were of similar ideas. When she PMed me letting me know she was the one who created that thread a while back, I then edited my post to give her credit for having a thread a while back."

    A. "A while back" she created it? It was just removed
    B. He didn't notice it? The good rev is on the forums like white on rice and he didn't notice it?
    C. Coincidence? I think not. What are the chances. This is plagiarism.

BULLSHIT. The rev is a liar and a cheat. Sorry Crunk, I know you are his friend, but this stinks too bad to be coincidence.

  15. Woah, what a fucking idiot Reverend is, yeah sure trying to keep the peace, right. I completely dissagre, most to the Lithium staff. Thanks for making the forums on hell of a place.

  16. LOL so this is basically a site to hate on people lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. If exposing hypocrites for what they are is simply "hating on people" then yeah, sure! I guess you're right.

  19. Jim777, we sense your lameness. And it is strong!

  20. I felt kinda bad for Jim777 before. But he comes off as an arrogant little boy here. Where are his manners? Where did he learn this is the way to speak to people?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Before you come to conclusions on how this sort of event happened...better to ask people and the person..

  22. To Pygmy: My days run together like crazy. I multitask constantly and while it may seem like I'm on the forums like white on rice, I am not. How long ago the thread was, I don't know. To criticize and call me a liar based so loosely on that is ridiculous.

Here's a suggestion, Pygmy. Go to Twitter.com/HisServant77. Look at my history. You will see on . . . January 12 I replied to a suggestion someone made that I create a Game Thread and maybe have it be a picture game. And today I finally strapped down and made a thread after checking with the mods to make sure it'd be fine for me to make one (so that it wouldn't get deleted).

Think I'm evil, think I'm good, like me, hate me, none of that matters to me. Fact of the matter is, I'm truly starting to get sick of the forum drama. Like I've said to several people before, I'd leave the forums because of how ridiculous it is and obviously is shown right here, but I still hope that somehow I'd be able to bring some sort of humanity to the forums by trying to be civil in it. Then because I'm an MVP I might be able to have a bit more luck in trying to change thinngs. Not because I'm some sort of high and mighty MVP, but because I was somehow accepted into the program and given certain privileges that I WILL use to my advantage to at least attempt to make the forums a little better. Again, you don't have to like me. But I'm still going to try to do what is right and try to help. With, or without other's approval.

    @ Reverend_M - WWJD?

  24. asoccer, last i tried to ask u something on twitter (u called me an elite on ur twitter and i then questioned u about ur comment) u set ur twitter to private without responding to me.

So which is it? are u open to questions or are u gona hide again so u can talk about people behind a private twitter account?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rev, I do think the criticisms are a bit personal. I don't think you're evil and I don't hate you personally because you're an MVP.

But by the same tolken you should understand the nature of the drama. It's not that you're an MVP, it's that such an elitist system is in place. And those who are NOT part of the program are treated poorly. Surely you can see that the mods have been treating me with disrepect and distain.

You, as MVP, represent such a system whether you like it or not. Accepting this privilige means you accept the hostility they are generating on the forums. And the drama stems from them, not from us. I'm not choosing to be angry for no reason, and I'm not being a random troll (as Jim777 thinks), but because of this treatment.

  26. Damn JTW, you keep writing stuff like that I'm gonna have you do my PR bullshit

    ReplyDelete
  27. JT, I agree and get equally upset with the way things can be in the forums. I've been open about that to mods as well, which was why I was so shocked when I was put as an MVP.

But the way I see the status now, is almost like having someone on the inside. When I see someone is trying to do something or get something done in the forums and seem to be hitting a brick wall, I go and see if I can get different results. That's also why I've tried getting in touch with the HCM's and see if they'd keep in touch with me so I could relay things to them in the same way (although no luck with that).

  28. LOL HW. I think half of Home believes I run this blog despite my protests to the contrary. I'm a bit fired up. I am not used to being spoken to with such disrespect, and I'm trying to process it. On this page, for example, I have Mr. Screech asoccer insulting me, and Jim777 calling me a troll on his twitter.

The last one truly bothers me. He's refering to my posts that were removed. And if a troll is one who is pointing out injustice, than I guess I am.

But with the hard work I've put into my posts meant to bring some levity and good will to the forums and to be called a troll is truly OFFENSIVE. Sure I know Jim's just a dumb kid, but he needs to learn some manners.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I apologize for calling the good reverend a liar and a cheat. That was crossing the line. I think you understand my skepticism rev. Still it is beyond comprehension that users can't make up challenges or games like JTW did. You are in effect supporting a system that is not pro-user and are supporting a system that denies users the ability to highlight the good in Home as JTW did with her post.

I am thankful for this blog. It may be a forum for good and bad, praise and hate... but it is mostly honest input from the users perspective and it honors the spirit of free speech, unlike the Lithium/Sony forums.
