PS3 Home player 'sexually assaulted', roommate claims

Lol, it just won't stop! I love the quote:

The incident has lead to a report in Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph (spotted by NeoGaf poster Puck), which carries the headline "Fears over online sex assaults: Game players traumatized".

In it, the University of Melbourne's Dr Jessica Wolfendale said "unwanted sexual attacks" can emotionally scar victims, even if they are not real.

Man oh man, how many other sites can this be submitted to? Let's find out. Full article here.

  2. There's no way on Earth that the people who claim to be traumatized are mentally sane. Absolutely no way.

  3. I'm pretty sure there were posts that ppl made others try suicide. Now thats bad. Not to be an ass but if someone t-bags another player by croaching after killing them, is that considered a sexual assault. If so i've been sexual assaulted dozens of times. Heh it just depends on the mentality of the player.

until someone kills you in real life then squats down and tea bags your lifeless corpse, you haven't been sexually "assaulted." anyone who claims to have been sexually "assaulted" over a video game is an idiot. it's nothing more then comic mischief and anyone who takes that seriously, as a serious assualt then...idk what to say about you. but verbal assualt, now that's a different story.

  5. People in Home get so butthurt over the littlest things. YOUR AVATAR IS DANCING TOO CLOSE TO ME, STOP POSING TOO CLOSE TO ME, YOU'RE STANDING TOO CLOSE TO ME.

    OMG SEXUAL ASSAULT!!!

What the fuck are we in? The 50's? It's a god damn virtual world.

I wonder if these same people cry sexual assault, or assault in general when they play LittleBigPlanet online and they come accross a Sackboy who keeps bitch slapping them. Or as the above poster used as an example, plays a shooter and gets tea bagged.

I'd seriously hate to be friends with these kinds of people if everything has to be SERIOUS BUSINESS 24/7

Get a fucking grip people. These people are clowns.

  6. @Anonymous 5:36 - No, but we should be. Society was a hell of a lot better then.

  7. Living in conformity which defined the 50's life style doesn't seem like a very nice society to live in to me. Especially when everyone was all...OMG ROCK AND ROLL!?!?!? THAT'S THE DEVILS MUSIC!!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THAT!!!

  8. LMFAO, so the anonymous coward of a author of this blog turns off anonymous posting and tells others to grow a set. LMAO... Hypocrite!!!! Then has to turn it back on because his cowardly little followers can't continue to post their insulting dribble without people knowing who they are. OMG that is just to funny. In fact this is the funniest thing I have seen on this blog since it went up. LOL, thanks for the laugh. So I am posting this anonymous as well to keep up with the cowardly spirit of this site. But this will just get deleted anyway because unlike the PSN forums which you complain endlessly about, you all promote freedom of speech over here. LOL!!! Right!!!

  9. Last anonymous poster is really lame. How many different times did they need to relay mocking laughter? And still post anonymously? You miss, are a true pussy, your post is lame and reaks of scared little bitch coward, and it's written like a gay forum troll who appears to still be in middle school. Congrats for sounding like a total punkass bitch! =) LMAO, ROFL, LOL, OMG

  10. Well the thing is Home is not a game where you hit someone with a sackboy frying pan or teabag them after a kill,,, its a social network meant to bring gamers together in social interaction - can you get physically assaulted by another avatar no - but you can be mentally assaulted YES,,, I hope the perv in question get kicked off home for good.

  11. People who state Home is a game obviously don't know what home is.

  12. @Anonymous 7:58 - Well, I don't think a child as simple as yourself could understand how much society has degraded. Perhaps you should do some research, if you can manage to read. Yes, the 50s were an overall better time. If you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, please shut up, and get rid of the anonymity, you fucking coward.

As far as I'm concerned, you're all the same. Too cowardly to reveal yourselves. But here, we are protected by freedom of speech. This is not operated by Lithium, nor owned by Sony. We can say what we wish without fear under our legitimate aliases.

Either way, I do not hide, and I never did.

  13. ADAMPwns, all of us want some level of anonymity in the online world. You have yours as I doubt your parents gave you the name ADAMPwns. Face it, if the blog owner revealed herself/himself Sony probably would try to take some lame action such as banning their Playstation account. Same for anyone posting on here. I wouldn't put it past someone at Sony to ban everyone here, citing some vague cause in the terms of service. So if the 'elites' want to post anonymously, who cares. Until everyone here starts posting their real full name, home address, telephone number, etc... you are all hiding. And that's fine.

  15. I also work in the gaming industry, and doing something like this publicly would black list me in a lot of positions. My career comes first.

  16. Buggie is too busy fapping to shmups, Halo, and Street Fighter IV to care about anything Home-related anymore.

Plus, Buggie has a neogaf account. The blog owner does not, (as far as I'm aware).
