Screening for Comments

Some folks have been concerned about the comment moderation on this blog. A few even upset. I figured I'd give a heads up about why.

Before you cry hypocrite, let me state: BITE ME. A personal blog done by unpaid people, with a purpose of changing something is different then Home. Home is a business, with paying customers. It takes funds, and restricts useage of the product they sell. It's like if you bought a Sony TV and they told you "we decide when you watch TV." I started this blog in order to accomplish that.

Going through comments of older posts, let me state there is no shortage of negative comments about the blog, us, and people who support us. However, towards the end of January the blog started to suffer attacks from those we expose. These attacks started off as just idiotic posts, (One of them said: "Close the blog Spongefag Shitpants!" although it is kind of funny.) Over the span of a week I was forced to remove tons of spamming trolls' posts, and it got to be a real headache. Here are examples of critical comments, and spam.
Someone wants attention. Poster should of just sent this to lochwood instead of wanting it to be seen by the world. Stick with Home problems and not personal attacks Home-watch.
Dude pull the dick out of your ass faggot
One is constructive, one isn't. Sadly, the latter type began to fill up the comments page. When I started this blog I could go a full day without having to check the blog. I got email alerts, so I could read all the comments as I pleased, without digging. But then after crapping on a select few people, the comment fields began getting idiotic. I turned on the captcha and it kept happening, although slower. Even though I strongly disagree with Sony's censorship, I wouldn't blink an eye nor get upset if they removed posts that were nothing more then "Dude pull the dick out of your ass faggot." They're pointless, non-constructive, and they're only posted to get people worked up, and for admins to remove. That way they can play the "boo hoo censorship" card. Sorry, I'm a little smarter then you, I see through it, and I will continue to eliminate pointless garbage.

I plan to turn off the moderation for comments today, because I hate babysitting each and every comment, and having to hear my phone go off every 5 minutes when a new comment shows up in my email. I've been working very diligently to identify the spammers in question, I have traced most of them to location, what times they spam, etc. I will locate you. I will expose you.

  3. I don't like the censorship,,, but I realize its a necessity or the deviants and lunatics will pitch a tent and poop all over the place and not bother wiping.

  4. Am personally happy that this has been changed.
Gives more of a 'real time' feel and has rekindled interest in this blog.
    Thank you.

  5. i gotta admit i like the exposing of people on Home or Home Forums. it's a nice place to Rant about Home in bad ways with out Corruption on Forums too happen. heh or the Fun Police being involved :)

  6. I already know who Home-watch is and I don't care. Unless he puts me in spotlight to get to Sony. Why attack me if the purpose of the blog is to get to Sony? HW doesnt like the attacks because its pointless, non-constructive, and they're only posted to get people worked up,thats how we feel when we are highlighted here. If you think the january attacks were bad.. imagine 1000 emails to your blog. Stick to attacking what you started. Calling out people for kudo's and who they hang out with is fodder. Because once you start 'exposing' then so will we.

  7. You know exactly jack and shit. But thanks for posting, I wanted to confirm your IP rotation.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ahh, nevermind, you're a different troll Mr. Moreno Valley.

  9. HW, is there a way to only allow registered users to post here? That way we can keep the anonymous dipshits from cramming the comments full of garbage (like 12:46pm above)

  10. Scratch that, as you said it may be helpful to harvest the IP addresses.

    ReplyDelete
  11. wow , so now its cool to IP harvest? well i dont know quite frankly who will post here with that being said? Other than the ppl who dont give a shit ... i dont know. Crazy though. I guess i can expect to have my name an address posted up here for ppl to see? is this place trying to scare ppl away at every turn? i post here because its not like the Nazi Lithium forums .... feels even worse now , i guess harvest my ip now.

  12. You could always turn off phone notifications. I can only imagine that must get tiring.

    ReplyDelete
  13. man wtf ToA are you crazy? i think the last thing this dude cares about is phone notifications ... he/she is openly harvesting ips. now personally i dont give a shit. im one more beer away from blurting out my name and address here just to spite. thats not the point. is a new user gonna post here knowing this shits going on. like i say , it feels worse than lithium at this point , at least you can confide they wont blurt out your name and address for disagreeing ..... im mean have more tack than that H-W. just my two shitty cents. now please dont turn me into some list to SONY for $50 bucks. i'll agree if you want. maybe i should erase all of this and not post it because im scared. sound familiar? geez.

  14. I agree that babysitting forum users gets old, but what did you expect when you create a blog like this? its not like your blog writes about lollipops, rainbows and unicrons for christs sake. At the end of the day I appreciate the majority of this site, but just because you dont agree with what we post doesnt give you the right to just Harvest ppls IP's, and then do as you please with our identitys. If thats the case then why dont you post your identity for all of us to enjoy? Or why dont you take off the anonymous feature? Oh thats right, you enjoy all the site hits you get beacuse of that feature. Like Anonoman i'm only one shot of jager away from blurting my identity, but whats the point. Just another 2 cents, damn your getting rich off our pocket change. Time to go vaporize another bowl for me, and calm the fuck down.

  15. Yo Anon?! Am i getting drunk with you in chat right now?! holy shit THATS YOU!!! ahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  16. Am tempted to vaporize a bowl simply because it sounds like a good idea. It has absolutely nothing to do with the comments, correspondence, or drama transpiring here.
That being said, would rather know who is posting than not. Makes for more believable content. Do not want RL names or addy's... just add your PSN ID or your known moniker at the end of your comment if you choose not to create an account.
Why be "anonymous" if you are being truthful and want your views to be taken as meaningful... or at least honest... ish?

    ReplyDelete
  17. i would rather post who i am , but in the light of the fact we could ALL be vaporized for even being here one day , as they say "sink with the ship" . I will tell you who i am Nos. I'm on your Friend list. Its the fact i dont want EVERYONE to know who i am. I think H-W can identify where im coming from

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thats -Anonoman up top there. Srry i forgot to sign it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Anonman Don't trip, I'm not interested in compiling info, I'm just interested in fixing it so I don't have to babysit

    ReplyDelete
  20. FK! not the guy ALL the way up top. -Anonoman was at 3:14 just need to clarify that. lol . i loled

    ReplyDelete
  21. Understood H-W ... can we get an edit feature while i have your attention? i hate messing up my sig! lmao!

-Anonoman (also at 3:14,3:15 and 3:17 ,eh i hate this)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree, we need editing features on this blog. Even if its a timed edit, meaning you can only edit it for first few minutes/hr's, etc. With all the herb and jager, i do make mistakes. LMFAO!

    -Anon420

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think i know every person commenting in this post haha. but to the point!
why the fuck is everyone acting so surprised over someone tacking your IP? do you think H-W is the only person who knows how to do that? do you think other people arent doing that to you on other sites? ever heard of an IP Ban?

Welcome to the Internet people. Use at your own risk.

    ReplyDelete
  24. i will argue my point with you in chat kapow. I dont wanna waste this guys cell minutes any more than you do. lmao!

    -Anonoman

    ReplyDelete
  25. haha, well first of all i think it would be wasting Data. but a persona like this you'd think he/she might have an unlimited Data plan. and fuck a chat, lets play BFBC2 fool, where's 'The Unwanted' one?. . . ah nevermind, i see em in Liberty City.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yea, who cares if he's harvesting IPS, I mean he's most likely doing it on the trolls, and it's not like Lithium doesn't do it. I know for a fact they are doing it, and I know they are banning ISP's as well, not just user names.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Anonymous 9:27PM 2/10: Of course other ppl harvest IP's, including the Lithium Boards, the problem was whats the final outcome from harvesting these IP's? Were being told its for troll's, but only time will tell. Im not pointing fingers, just saying be cautious...

    -Anon420

    ReplyDelete
  28. There's no IP harvesting going on. I'm just alerting the spam bombers I can locate & figure out who they are. If it's so important for them to stay anonymous while spamming up the blog, perhaps removing that anonymous label will make them think twice.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @PSN Home Watch...If your gonna do that, which i even recommended in my earlier post on this thread, why not take off your anonymity at the same time? Or is Kapow is the only one willing to write for the blog under his own name.

    -Anon420

    ReplyDelete
  30. @"Anon"420

i don't use anonymity because really i don't have anything to lose, also i just don't give a fuck if people know i write here.
and H-W has stated at least twice that he does in fact have something to lose by revealing who he is. if i was him i would be doing the same thing. but i'm Kapow. and like i said before, i just don't give a fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  31. honestly i don't know why some of you guys post under Anonymous. a lot of people already know that you're friends with me and that you come to this site. are you honestly that afraid of what the dick-faces over at the Lithium forums will think of you?

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Kapow: Were friends? J/K, you beer enema lover. LOL. Anonymity is fun, wish we had a lil more of it. Some of us do have things to lose as well, its not like H-M is the only one out there with something to lose. But I do appreciate your straight forward attitude about things like this.

    -Anon420

    ReplyDelete
  33. hey, all i said was beer enemas are real and they work. ask Anonoman, he knows first hand.

    ReplyDelete
  34. There is a difference between destructive slander and constructive criticism.
Both can be done with flair, but one way can bring you serious trouble while the other can result in not so serious trouble at it's worst.
Personally have no problem posting here or anywhere else under the Nos moniker because all things said are truthful and relatively respectful. Anyone taking offense to any posts by yours truly do so because the truth hurts.

    ReplyDelete
  35. beer enimas work. I post under anon because i know about beer enimas . its as simple as that. Not to mention when you feel the heat over at the Lithium forums dont cry foul. When Cobra1 locks ur posts and follows you around just know its because you support this place when you post here anon or not. Just for the record i have alot to lose by coming out here too so i'm not. I thought we had been through this and this case was closed. Anons have reasons for being anon , simple as that.

    -Anonoman

    ReplyDelete
  36. it's convos like these that make anonymous posting so worth having!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anon for life!!! But back to the post were replying to, I thank H-W for at least leaving the instant post feature on for today as well. You said it was gonna be yesterday only, but here I am today enjoying the feature.

    -Anon420

    ReplyDelete
  38. but let's try and use the feature for constructive purposes only, and not use them to talk about how much Anonoman loves beer enemas.

    to continue;
i still don't see why you guys post anonymously. like, i Know why, but it doesn't make much sense to me. everyone knows you guys come to this site, but you post anonymously so people won't know your names. i know both of you have more balls than to let some Lithium people keep you in the shadows.

    ReplyDelete
  39. AND ANOTHER THING, there's a difference between the censoring that is being done on the Lithium forums and the censoring that is being done here. at Lithium, people post thoughtful posts and it'll end up getting deleted or locked. at the very least, if it's not constructive or thoughtful, most of the times they aren't breaking any rules. aka, an unjust or wrongful lock/deletion.
and then there's peoeple that come here and post things like "get the dick out of your ass faggot" that is just a waste of time to everyone.

people that are going around throwing the 'hypocrite' word around so carelessly obviously have not done any research on this blog or the Lithium forums. but like they say,

"you can't win an argument with an ignorant man."
